It was one early morning, and I had just got back from dropping my son off at school. I came back home and got right back in the bed just to get an hour more or so of sleep. Once I got back up I went to the kitchen to make my morning coffee only to find that my keurig read, “water under pressure”.
I just stood there staring at it as if this was not so. The notification in itself was a revelation because I had been so tired and exhausted the whole week and I knew God was speaking. I tried for about 30 minutes trying to resolve this dilemma and I even called Keurig support only to find out the style was so outdated, they no longer sell it. I sat and thought about how long I actually had this keurig, and I was in shock, it was 11 years old. I had it through college, my first grown up apartment, moving to another city, transitioning to multiple apartments and I realized the Holy Spirit was speaking, “it’s time for a shift, it’s time for new things”.
Sometimes the very thing we are holding on to is the one thing that God wants us to let go of to give us better and so much more. We never know what blessing is awaiting us when we shift when God is asking us to. That day I got a brand new keurig, very modern, and chic and I love it. When I meditated on this situation, the scripture Isaiah 43:7 came to me, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on what areas, things, and people God is wanting you to let go of.
Prayer For A Shift
Lord, I thank you for this moment you have given me to reflect on what you are shifting in my life. As I dwell in the secret place, I surrender these areas to you. I name each and every area I am releasing to you that my life will be shifted and transformed, that I will be in the perfect will that you have for my life. Lord, I thank you for being a lamp unto my feet and guiding me. Lead me on the path of insight and discretion.
in Jesus Name
Amen.
