Parenting for the single moms

Parenting for the single moms.

“Whew!!!!” Is what you hear a lot of moms say after a long 8 hour shift, picking the kid(s) up and settling everyone in for dinner and bedtime. It has become a routine at this point.. Right? Why is that? I remember the day I got home and I was exhausted! I could barely make it to the couch, and there is my son full of energy, running and throwing things, and screaming and the never ending, Mom, ma, mama, MAMA! I said to myself, something has to change, what can I do that will help me relax, and help him with his active high energy before dinner.

Luckily, I am blessed to live in an area full of convenience. I mean the grocery store across the street, Target, where you can find anything walking distance, and some very beautiful parks with nice playgrounds. I began to plan it out. I would pick him up from daycare, make sure I had his baby bag packed and we would go straight to the park. I tried it out for about one week and I noticed a significant difference. When we would get home, he would be so mellow ready to eat and would go straight to sleep after bath-time. It was also a plus for me because I enjoy being in nature, and it’s refreshing to enjoy a fresh breeze and tend to my thoughts as he plays.

I’m saying this to say, it is good to try something different for your peace moms. I know how busy we are working and caring for others, but make sure you’re caring for yourself. Find something that works for you and the kids. Did you know that more than 59% of working moms say that it is hard to find leisure and balance work and family? It’s easy to say why not? The real question is how can we find a solution.

Bible Verses to Encourage You In Parenting:

  • Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
