Speak Life: Trusting God Through The Shifts of Motherhood

It’s been one of those weeks busy, emotional, full of unexpected turns. Between my son’s football game and the noise of the crowd, I found myself quietly sitting, feeling numb, feeling alone.

Families huddled together, cheering for their kids, and there I was cheering here and there, then sitting back, observing. I had already walked through a week filled with emotional shifts, yet through it all, I kept whispering to my heart: trust God, every step of the way.

“Your Mouth Is the Pen of a Ready Writer” Psalm 45:1

As I laid my head on the pillow this morning, turning to the other side of the bed, I perceived in my spirit:

“Your mouth is the pen of a ready writer.” (Psalm 45:1)

Speak what you want to see, and believe it.

That sounds simple, doesn’t it? But it’s more than just saying the words. It’s about faith that sees beyond what’s in front of you. God’s Word is alive, breathing, and creative. It shapes your world when you align your words with His truth.

When Motherhood Feels Heavy

Sometimes as moms, we let life just happen to us, constantly on alert, juggling everything, wanting the best for our kids. But here’s the truth: our children aren’t perfect, and neither are we.

Yes, we want them to succeed, but when they fall short, how we respond matters. Do we correct from frustration, or guide from love? Do we let their failure define our peace, or invite God into the moment to teach both of us something deeper?

Reflect & Respond

Take a few moments to journal or pray through these:

  1. Where have I been speaking more fear than faith over my family?
  2. What is one area I need to trust God more fully this week?
  3. How do I handle my child’s struggles, with reaction or reflection?
  4. What might God be teaching me through this current season of motherhood?

You’re Not Doing It Alone

It may feel like too much some days, the meals, the emotions, the endless responsibilities. But you’re not doing it alone. You’re doing it with God.

Speak life over yourself, your children, and everything attached to you. You carry an atmosphere wherever you go, make it one of peace, grace, and faith.

Ask God to pour into you. Sit quietly with your journal. Listen for His divine downloads of those Holy Spirit impressions that bring clarity, comfort, and direction.

Practical Steps for the Week

  1. Start your day with a declaration. Before you scroll or rush, speak one life-giving truth aloud (e.g., “I am an equipped, grace-filled mom who walks with God.”).
  2. Pause before you react. When your child disappoints or disobeys, take one deep breath and silently ask, “Lord, how would You have me respond?”
  3. Journal your wins and lessons. Each night, write one thing you did well and one thing you learned. Growth counts as success.
  4. Refresh intentionally. Do one small act that restores your joy,  a walk, your favorite coffee, or calling a friend who encourages you.
  5. End the week with gratitude. List three ways you saw God move, even in the shift.

You are seen. You are loved. And you are growing. Even when it feels like nothing’s changing, God is still writing your story, with your mouth as His pen.

Keep speaking life. Keep trusting Him. The fruit of your faith will show, in your home, your children, and your heart.

Be Blessed!
