Today has been a day! Have you ever been to a place where you are pushing and pressing just to make it through the day? I had that moment. I got up early one morning; I prayed and logged onto work early to get my day started. I noticed on a video meeting there was such negative energy for no reason. There were subtle put downs and that feeling where you think you’re invisible. I remember screaming, “What’s Happening?”
I noticed that the week before, the same particular person mysteriously forgot a few things concerning me and this week was the same thing. This time I confirmed with the individual details of what we had spoken about, and I said it assertively, to know that yes I see you.
In this I realized that oftentimes in the most vulnerable moments is when you encounter difficult people or circumstances to really see what is really in you. I could have clicked off the call, I could have yelled at the person, but instead, I reminded the individual of what we agreed on and they were able to acknowledge it.
I’m reminded of the bible verse, Mark 9:45 which states, “And if thy foot offends thee, cut it off; it is better for thee to enter halt into life than having two feet to be cast into hell into the fire that never shall be quenched.”
Offense is the act of a stumbling block placed in the way so that a person may trip or fall. It is to entice sin, to cause a person to begin to distrust.

I realized that it is better to die to your flesh, to reject offense and forgive. To not be caught up in offense that hardens your heart and draws you from God.
Romans 8:13 says, “For if ye live after the flesh ye shall die, but if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body ye shall live.”
As believers, we must continuously make a conscious decision to choose the way of righteousness, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you. It is knowing that difficult people and situations will arise and it is how you react to that matters. Choose to be proactive, praying without ceasing and operating with the love of Christ.
