Embrace the Path God Has Set for You: Be Your Authentic Self

I want to discuss showing up as your authentic self. I know that I am not the only one that feels the need to change this or that about myself to possibly, just maybe be accepted by others, not feel as awkward in rooms or categorized as weird. Presumptions like these can really take a toll on the mind and self image.

Oftentimes, we look and wonder how we ended up in certain situations or with certain people. How did we go so far down a road that led to nowhere? Can we even recover from the damage caused by going so far astray? I am here to tell you that God is the restorer and redeemer of time. You have to be willing to be your authentic self. Who He created you to be at your core.

Authenticity

Once you realize that taking on a false persona or identity will only cause more destruction, you will begin to peel away those layers of what you feel would be acceptable to others, and begin to come into the knowing that you are already accepted and loved by God. He gave His only begotten son that you may have a new life, that you have access, that you have freedom in Christ Jesus.

There have been times where I was hesitant to open up or step into the boldness that has been given to me because of what others would say or how it would make them feel. I would prioritize their feelings over mine, which caused resentment.

It is important to know who you are in Christ and show up in the boldness and courage given to you. When you know who you are at your core, the pieces to your puzzle we call life will divinely align. You will see the breachers that have been hiding in your life begin to fall away and those people sent to be a help and support to you come in to build, encourage, uplift.

Bible Verse for Meditation

I’m reminded of the verse in Deuteronomy 7:9,”Know, recognize, and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.”

God’s love for you never fails. Nothing compares to Him. You have to come into the knowledge of God’s love. That He loves you so much that he sacrificed His only son. He calls you the apple of His eyes. His special possession, set apart, chosen. You have to know that you are enough, created in and with love, thought about even before your mother thought of you. You are a treasure.

Your authenticity is greatness exploding from your very being. It is what lights up a room. When you allow the Holy Spirit to transform you, you come into the knowing of who you are, your thinking, your mindset, the way you process things, the people you entertain changes. You will be bold in saying no to things that are not in alignment with who you are and where you are going. You will be okay with setting healthy boundaries.

In John 15:9, it states, “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.” We have to continue in that very love, honoring, and accepting Christ and His love that we may love others and see through, and operate through the mind of Christ. Perfect love casts out all fear. Allow God’s love to permeate your life, relationships, your very being that you tap into who you are. That boldness, that strength, that endurance, given to you through Christ Jesus.

I pray this has encouraged you today. How are you showing up as your authentic self? Meditate on it and write it out.
