Choosing to honor you and your needs is the best thing you can do not only yourself, but your God given identity and authenticity. That’s exactly why I wanted to share this with you because sometimes the most valuable gems are found in the most unexpected places.
Take Introspection
The more we self abandon that inner voice, the more we navigate off God’s path. Just think about it for a second. In the most simplest way. Let’s say you enjoy your early morning devotional time because you know that pouring into yourself with God’s word fuels you for the day and also sharpens your discernment. Let’s say someone you consider close asks you to help them with something during that time for a week and you say yes, and you realize that you are drained, haven’t prayed, feel off and become resentful. Well, that has nothing to do with the other person, it has to do with you. Are you putting others before your needs? Are you asking yourself, what happened to me?
It’s time to take introspection. When you know who you are, your self worth, your value, you pause before making decisions. You consult God, to know if it is the best course of action, and walk in that decision boldly. Not because you don’t want to do it or being lazy, but because it doesn’t align with where you are and where you are going.
Embrace You
Embracing your identity and authenticity is so beautiful, it rediscovers that precious gem God has cultivated and set aside for His purpose. We make decisions sometimes not because it’s what we want to do, but because how we would be viewed if we don’t. I see so many confident and bold women of God who have chosen to embrace their uniqueness. Whether that is a haircut, bright colors or even different prints, they don’t wear it because you will like it, but because it feels good to them. It is their way of expression, not to be received well by man, but to embrace who God has created them. Authentic, Unique, Bold, and Radiant.
Obtain Knowledge
Knowledge is sought out, sought after.
Proverbs 8:9, “To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge.”
How much more for you a gem? You don’t have to be loud, overly dressed, placing yourself in places and environments that don’t recognize your value. Gems are sought after because they are rare, authentic, and precious and it takes just the right person to understand where to locate and how to steward.
I think about a gardener, who tills the soil fertilizes, waters, make sure the seeds are planted in the ideal environment and once they bloom, they let off a beautiful fragrance that attracts pollinators, like bees and butterflies, who then go and multiply, whether that be with honey or more flowers even if accidentally. Isn’t that amazing. Truly knowing who you are is the best thing you can do for yourself.
You will know immediately when someone, some place or some thing is not in alignment with your core values, and not feel any guilt or shame about it. I pray this has been a blessing to you. In what ways are you embracing your authenticity? Write it out. Be Blessed!
