Dealing With Pressure As A Single Mom

What do you do when the pressure of life begins to push and press upon you?

I realized the only thing you can do is be still and surrender to God.

Oftentimes, there can be work stress, where you’re actually given more work for being a high achiever with no additional help or it can be that you are trying to manage your children’s daily routine on top of work and household duties.

It can even be the pressure of extended family or friends wanting more time with you and you don’t see how it can possibly happen. All of these things can add up on a person and cause them to totally withdraw, panic, want to give up or even complain.

Just know that as you are enduring these things, whatever area it is, your capacity is being stretched so that you may grow and begin to receive new strength.

I’m reminded of the verse in Psalm 28:7 KJV “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

God will strengthen you and be your shield. He will give you protection, be your shield and help you in any situation that you are facing. Take time and sit and write out every single thing and area that you are experiencing pressure. Begin to distinguish what areas are priorities and what areas that you can schedule out later on.

If it is work, reflect on ways you can gain help, speak to your manager or your coworkers. Ask for help.

If it is family, set boundaries, communicate and have conversations concerning time, visits and what you have going on.

If it is time management, schedule out your day to day, what takes priorities?

These are just examples of different areas, but whatever it is; write it out and give it to God. He will lead you and direct you on the right path.
