Renew Your Mind
This morning I woke up and I said my prayers and spoke with Abba. Once I got my day started, some old thoughts began to replay. I remember getting into an argument with a person close to me and in the midst of the argument; the person began to bring up my past and say things that were very hurtful that I didn’t know where they were coming from and why this person felt this way.
Those words began to replay in my mind and I felt it in my body. I begin to declare scriptures out of my mouth. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:5. It is very important to renew your mind because replaying negative thoughts can affect your day.
So, I begin to pray and declare that scripture over myself and over my day. In times where old unfruitful conversations try to rear their head, cast it down in the name of Jesus, play music, go exercise or read the word of God. We have the authority over our day, command your day and what you want your day to be. It is very important. I also write, which is where this blog came in hand because I wanted to get all of these thoughts out. Writing is very freeing because you’re unpacking and decluttering your mind. God Bless.
Meditation Scriptures
1 Chronicles 28:9 (NIV)
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you.”
Jeremiah 19:5 (NIV)
“I, the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve”.
