Let’s talk about how to surrender and draw close to God. There are constant reminders in our day to day; whether it be in our quiet time, at work or even when we are spending time with our children of the things that we have endured on our journey.
It is important to not let your worries and stresses of the world keep you from drawing closer to God. When you surrender to Him there is such a freedom that comes upon you.
Pushing Past The Trauma
Our past experiences and ill treatment from others around us could have a major impact on how we show up in our day to day. We can let that pain and triggers show up in how we respond and how we treat people. We often take things in our own hands, and hold on to grudges and unforgiveness because we feel the way we were treated was unfair. Maybe something happened to you that causes you to mistrust everyone around you and even yourself and because of that you hold on to pride and do not go to God to surrender.
I want you to know that God is waiting for you to draw close to Him. He knows your struggles and the pain and disappointment you have endured even the hardness of your heart not wanting to forgive or release because you want to be right.
The Blood of Jesus
God loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son, that we can come to Him and we are covered under the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus cleanses our conscience from dead works so that we are able to serve freely without guilt or shame, so we can show up in love and compassion.
I’m reminded of the verse in Hebrews 9:14-15, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

You can show up in the freedom of Christ when you understand that you are in a new covenant with Jesus Christ.
The blood of Jesus speaks better words.
- The blood forgives the sins of all who repents.
- The blood cleanses believers consciences that they might serve God without any guilt and in full confidence of faith in God.
- The blood justifies all who believe in Him.
Do you believe that?
In Hebrews 10:22, it states, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
God is waiting for you to draw near to Him. You can cast your burdens, your pain, your insecurities on Him and take upon His yoke that is easy and His burden is light. He has the answers you need.
I pray this has blessed you today. I encourage you to grab your journey and write out those things that are burdening your heart and mind. Give it to God and trust that He is in control and working everything in your favor. You can check out more on this topic here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwGiVRHOTPU&feature=youtu.be
