Number One: Let’s get intentional: Intentionality is to purposely pursue after the life God has called you to live. It is to take deliberate action every day. When you receive Jesus Christ into your heart you are allowing Him to come into your life; to transform you from the insight out. Your life begins to be yielded and led intentionally by God that his perfect will is established in your life.
Being intentional is saying that I will do “a thing” and I have an understanding and revelation on why I am doing it; which will encourage me to stick to it.
I’ve been reflecting on this scripture, Ephesians 5:14-17 AMPC, “Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. Look carefully at how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.”
What are boundaries? Boundaries are understanding who you are, your God given identity with not being easily influenced by the world’s patterns or standards. It is about knowing what makes you YOU and not straying from that based on others.
Number Two: It is important to set healthy boundaries and keep promises you have made to yourself. For example, if you wake up groggy because you chat on the phone all night; set a boundary that at 10:30, my phone goes on do not disturb, and keep that promise, so if you have decided no calls or messages after 10:30 so that you can get proper rest, do not answer calls or messages at that time. This can also be useful in other areas, whether that be exercise, eating, finances, relationships. You can place it where it fits.
Number Three: I’ve found that speaking declarations and meditating on God’s word can shift your mood and your mindset. It could be the first thing you do in the morning or during the day or continuously. It is taking time to reflect on what you want to see in your life and declaring God’s promise concerning that thing and begin to meditate on it as if it has already happened. See yourself in the thing or doing that thing or receiving it.
Oftentimes, we can get comfortable where we are. Going to the same grocery stores, the same gas station, the same restaurants. Try something new, accept the invite, travel to a new place, visit a new neighborhood. Doing these things on a consistent basis will begin to shift your mindset from where you are to a higher place of elevation.
I remember driving through beautiful luxury neighborhoods, looking at the curb appeal and the flowers in the garden bed, the different designs and visualizing how my home will be, and God has graced me to move into a home where I can cultivate the garden and beautify my new home, just as I have seen. That’s a testimony in itself. I remember even writing down how I want my home to be, the rooms, the bathrooms, the floor plan.
Taking time to meditate on God’s promises, that he will satisfy me with good things and visualizing those things come to life, they are now a tangible testimony for me and all glory and honor belongs to God. I hope that this has encouraged you that you may begin to shift your mindset and that your dreams and your visions will begin to become your reality. Be Blessed!
